Who can apply to the call?

Applicants have to be general degree (diplomatura) holders, engineering technicians and archchitectural technicians, in accordance with the Royal decree 989/2008, 13 June, by which the exceptional recruitment of collaborator teachers is regulated.

Can people holding a degree apply for the reports?

No. The article 3 of the Royal decree 989/2008, of 13 June, establishes that the exceptional recruitment of collaborating lecturer teaching staff will be carried out among those people who are general degree (diplomatura) holders, engineering technicians and archchitectural technicians.

In the case of an unfavourable report, when can the candidate apply for another one?

Persons who have applied for a report prior to shortlisting for the posts of tenure-track lecturer or collaborating lecturer may apply for a new report for the same post in the next application period.

Do copies of documents presented together with the application and the curriculum vitae have to bear an official stamp?

It is not necessary for photocopies to be stamped. In the application and the curriculum vitae the candidate signs a declaration certifying the authenticity of the data and additional documentation, and in the case of inaccuracies agrees to bear the consequences.

How are subjects specified?

The applicants, depending on their speciality, should list a maximum of two subjects. Tenure-track Lecturers and Collaborating Lecturers Committee has set up six committees, one for each field of knowledge, which will be charged with the assessment of applications. Also the Committee and the specific committees will decide the definitive destination of the applications.

Can another person acting on behalf of the applicant hand in the application at the register office of AQU Catalonia?

Yes, a third party can hand in the application as long as both the application form and the curriculum vitae have been duly signed by the applicant and all the necessary documentation is included.

How many assessment reports should be included with the curriculum vitae?

The maximum number of reports to be adjoined is three for each applicant. Reports must be made on the official form which is avalable in the documents section of the tenure-track assessment directory. The presentation of reports is not obligatory.

Do all reports have to be confidential?

Reports must be confidential. Reports should be sent directly by the referees to AQU Catalunya for the attention of the President of Tenure-track Lecturers and Collaborating Lecturers Comittee.

What should an assessment report contain?

The referee should be clearly identified and also their position or duties, and the report must be duly signed. The applicant's identity should also be made clear by including his/her first name and surname(s) and ID number (NIF, NIE or passport).

What is the deadline for the presentation of confidential reports to AQU Catalonia?

Confidential reports must arrive within a maximum period of 10 days after the closing date of the application period. Otherwise they will not be taken into consideration in the assessment process. These reports cannot be advanced through e-mail.

Should copies of published work be adjoined?

Copies of published work are not necessary. Only in cases where the work has been accepted but is still pending publication should it be presented in digital format (in pdf or ms-word) together with documentary proof of acceptance for publication by the editor.

In the curriculum vitae, in the section on teaching experience, should details be given of all the modules of the subjects taught or only of the modules taught in that subject?

Both the total number of subject modules and the modules that have been taught by the candidate should be listed.

How is teaching experience accredited?

Teaching experience can be accredited by presenting either the General Teaching Programme or the Individual Teaching Programme duly signed by the relevant academic authorities and where the candidate's teaching positions are listed, or by presenting a certificate signed by the head of department responsible for the subjects taught, in which those subjects and modules taught are specified.

Do favourable reports and accreditations expire?

Reports and research and advanced research accreditations do not expire.

What does administrative mail consist of?

It consists of presenting two copies of the application at a post office, the curriculum vitae (one copy on paper and one in an electronic format) and all the necessary documentation in an unsealed envelope. The post office will stamp the two copies of the application with the name of the branch and the delivery date. The candidate can also ask for photocopies to be stamped with the time of reception, by way of a receipt, to validate their presentation. Once this is done, the envelope which contains the documentation is sealed and sent by registered mail to AQU Catalunya. The sender keeps the receipt.

What is the fee for the issue of reports prior to the recruitment of collaborating lecturers?

In the section on congresses in the curriculum vitae, what is meant by publications?

On many occasions the contributions to congresses may be published in the form of an article in a review, proceedings, as a chapter in a book, etc. In this section the name of the review or book, etc. should be mentioned and also the first and last page of the article (and the number of the review if this is the case).
