The Research Assessment Commission revises the review criteria for the issuance of pre-selection assessment report for junior lecturers

The Research Assessment Commission and its subject-specific committees have agreed to upgrade the public review criteria [ca], the purpose being to underpin the importance of the quality of the journals and publications listed in applications from prospective junior lecturers for the evaluation reports used in pre-selection procedures.

As a general principle, it is the quality of contributions (journals and publications), demonstrated in the form of parameters that are objective and internationally accepted, that shall prevail and not the quantity. Publications of a very high or exceptional quality may therefore compensate for a shortfall in the quantity of contributions stipulated in the criteria.

These criteria are applicable from 2016 onwards.
