AQU Catalunya has published the first guide books with guidelines for the assessment of student learning in accordance with Bologna

Produced by academic staff at Catalan universities and coordinated by AQU Catalunya, the guidelines provide teachers with references and examples as resources for designing strategies to assess student learning consistent with the competence profile of a degree programme and the subject learning outcomes.

Within the new educational paradigm established by Bologna, the student has become the focus for the design of teaching and learning, with wider possibilities for the acquisition of knowledge. There are no longer any master classes, and assessment of the learning outcomes of the students has become more important. The university, in addition to being an educational institution, accordingly certifies the competences acquired by the student.

In this regard, the guide books published by AQU Catalunya are among the first documents within the European context that provide a frame of reference which permits the selection and design of assessment tests that are consistent with intended learning outcomes, together with greater transparency concerning the assessment methods and criteria.
