AQU's Research Assessment Commission (CAR) revises the accuracy of the bibliometric terminology used in review criteria

The criteria, which were endorsed by AQU's Research Assessment Commission (CAR) in 2003, needed to be updated in terms of the accuracy of the bibliometric terminology for the post of tenure-eligible lecturer, as well as research and advanced research. The changes underpin the commission's commitment to quality and the exceptional value of specific contributions.

Following a report produced by a scientific documentation expert, the commission revised and endorsed the criteria. These now specify, for example, the citation and indexing databases, in particular the different databases in the Web of Science product, which was recently acquired by Clarivate Analytics. The term “scientific repercussion" has now been adopted instead of the generic term “impact”, which is not linked to any specific indicator.

The new review criteria will come into effect in the second call for applications in 2017 from tenure-eligible lecturers and for the accreditation of research and advanced research.
