One of the AQU's activities in relation to cooperation and exchange is collaboration with other agencies. This provides added value to the Agency's activities and supports countries that are in the stage of developing university quality assurance-related activities.

In this regard, AQU Catalunya accepted the request by the Universidad de Guadalajara to assess and, where applicable, carry out the international accreditation of six degree programmes in the Social Sciences and Technology offered by this state-run university, the second most important in Mexico in terms of the number of enrolled students.

The self-evaluation process was undertaken during 2007 and the site visit made from 2-11 March 2008. The six review panels appointed by AQU Catalunya and made up of six experts from Catalonia and twelve from Mexico interviewed more than two hundred members of the academic community at the university (professors, academic coordinators, administration and services staff, students, employers and graduates) in the process of reviewing the quality of degrees in Law, Accountancy, Administration, Tourism, Civil and Services Engineering and Teleinformatics Engineering.
