In the meeting held on 12 June, the Research Assessment Committee resolved to amend resolution no. 3, dated 27 November 2007, on the research assessment of tenured and temporary research and teaching staff.

Accordingly, in the event of a change of appointment, a change from the position of temporary staff member to tenured member or vice versa and to avoid the same areas being assessed twice, sub-section 5 is incorporated into point 2 of the procedure and reads as follows:

"2.5 Tenured and temporary research and teaching staff, who have obtained a sole assessment with a positive or negative result, or a positive standard assessment for their individual research merits from the Specific Committees of the Research Assessment Committee, may not re-submit these merits for assessment or acknowledgment by the committees again, whether for part of or for all the period or periods assessed or acknowledged by the committees even if the applicant has changed positions from a tenured to a temporary staff member or vice versa.

In the event of a negative standard assessment, research and teaching staff, tenured or temporary, may not re-submit a period that has formerly been given a negative assessment in subsequent years even if the applicant has changed positions from a tenured to a temporary staff member or vice versa. In this respect, assessment or, if applicable, acknowledgment will only be given for the last standard period that was issued with a negative assessment, provided that compliance is given to the provisions of section 8.8."
