The Plan defines the mission and values of AQU Catalunya, and it establishes eight strategic themes to direct action by the Agency: management and organisation, academic staff assessment, institutional and programme review, analysis of the higher education system, communication, people, external relations and students.

The results correspond to 12 institutions which form part of the initial review stage in the programme and have not had any degree programmes evaluated nor their quality assurance systems certified by AQU Catalunya.
Accreditation approval of the teaching assessment handbooks used by public universities in Catalonia06.04.2009
Amongst other uses, the teaching assessment handbook is the instrument used by the universities to assess the personal merits in teaching of both public service and contracted teaching and research staff at public universities in Catalonia for the allocation of salary bonuses, in accordance with current legislation.

10% discount for applications submitted on-line30.03.2009
Applications to be submitted to AQU Catalunya for the issuance of pre-selection and accreditation reports for recruitment that are made on-line receive a discount of 10% of the cost of the fee for this service (article 5 of Law 16/2008, dated 23 December, on fiscal and financial measures).

The Spanish Universities Quality Assurance Network (REACU), which AQU Catalunya is the founding member of, approved the Recommendations regarding the monitoring of recognised degrees, a series of criteria that are of common application between the QA agencies in Spain and which may be subject to more specific procedures defined by each corresponding QA agency.
