A meeting between the vice-rectors for student affairs at universities in Catalonia and AQU Catalunya was held to analyse and discuss the situation of student participation in university life and in quality assurance projects in Catalan universities, based on the documents produced by the Conference of Ministers responsible for higher education in Europe, the European Students Union (ESU). The situation in Catalonia was also discussed. 

AQU Catalunya used the meeting as an opportunity to present the actions that, within this sphere and the context of the Agency's Strategic Plan, are to be carried out during 2009 and 2010, which consist of:

• The setting up of a technical workgroup to produce a General Framework for student involvement and participation in university life.
• The setting up of an AQU review panel, under the Agency's Quality Assessment Comission de la Qualitat, consisting exclusively of students.
• Impetus for courses to promote student participation in quality assurance.
