The Catalan quality assurance agency has accepted the request from the Faculty of Law at the University of San Martín de Porres in Peru to carry out the necessary actions for the institution's accreditation. The collaboration agreement states that the USMP's Faculty of Law wishes the AQU's "review methodology" to be applied in order to bring it in line with "the standards and guidelines for quality assurance used in Europe", which AQU Catalunya can carry out as a member of ENQA and EQAR.

This project is the second collaboration by AQU Catalunya with the higher education system in Latin America, following the review in 2008 of seven degree programmes at the University of Guadalajara in Mexico, involving the use of the methodology typically used in the European higher education system.
