  • Launch of the AQU Digital library16.02.2010
    AQU Catalunya has been working in recent months on setting up a specialised electronic document repository dealing with university quality assurance. Forming part of the Agency's website, the aim is for the Digital library to serve as a useful instrument in the design of new activities, as well as for training purposes and for new knowledge to be created in this sphere.
  • Study of the profile of candidates for non-civil servant tenured teaching positions in the Humanities and Social Sciences12.02.2010
    AQU Catalunya has been working since July 2009 on producing the empirical profiles of candidates for non-civil servant tenured teaching positions who applied for pre-selection reports and those applying for research accreditation in the Humanities and Social Sciences, using the information given in their curriculum vitaes (approximately 5,000 have been submitted since 2003).

    The ECA member organisations meet once a year in a plenary workshop. Seminars and conferences are also organised throughout the year where the different stakeholders can participate, including HE institutions, students, recognition bodies, government authorities and employers.
  • Workshop on research assessment in the Humanities and Social Sciences in Catalan universities 27.01.2010
    This year's workshop will have the highest number of both papers and participants out of the eleven times that this event for discussion and deliberation has been organised. Around 400 people are expected to attend the approximately sixty papers being presented by academics and scientists, who will deal with the more controversial aspects concerning research in the Humanities and Social Sciences and approaches to bring about maximum consensus.
  • Applications for the 2010 call for the AUDIT programme now being accepted25.01.2010
    The 2010 call for the AUDIT programme is aimed, as every year, at all departments, faculties, institutions and universities in the Catalan higher education system. As in the previous call, universities can either submit internal quality assurance systems (IQAS) specific to a department, faculty or institution (designed and adapted to the characteristics and distinguishing attributes of each participating institution) or general IQAS models for the university as a whole.
  • Results of the 2009 call for the assessment of research work by public service university teaching and research staff 08.01.2010
    The processing of all applications for the assessment of research work by public service teaching and research staff at public universities in Catalonia for the purpose of salary bonuses for merits in research has now been completed. All periods being assessed terminated, at the latest, on 31 December 2008. 557 applications were received, of which 96% were favourably assessed.
