The Catalan Agency has presented its specialised electronic document repository dealing with university quality assurance within the framework of the Annual ENQA Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) Seminar, held in London, UK, 8-9 June 2010.
Training of students in university quality assurance15.06.2010
To encourage the participation of students in evaluation processes this participation, AQU Catalunya, together with the universities, promotes the training of students in university quality through the quality assurance course programme. In this programme of courses, students obtain knowledge and skills that enable them to be satisfactorily involved in quality assurance systems and university evaluation and enhancement processes.
The job situation of graduates in the Humanities,six years after obtaining their degrees10.06.2010
A survey was carried out in 2008 of Humanities graduates who completed their studies in 2001 and whose job duties in 2005 were not on a level with their university studies, to establish whether, within six years after completing their degrees, graduates in the Humanities manage to be as successful as degree holders from other disciplines, or if they need more time to find a suitable job.
Deadline modified for the assessment of merits in research of public service teaching and research staff02.06.2010
In order for the call for applications made by AQU to conform to the CNEAI's new calendar, the Research Assessment Committee has agreed to modify the period for the submission of applications for the assessment of merits in research from public service teaching and research staff from between 28 June and 23 July to the months of December 2010 and January 2011.

Elena Tejedor, Director of the quality assurance Agency for Castilla y Leon (ACSUCYL), and currently head of the Spanish network of university QA agencies (REACU), recently visited AQU Catalunya, where she met with the Agency's president, Joaquim Prats, and the director, Josep Anton Ferré.
The Catalan Government passes legislation dealing with AQU Catalunya18.05.2010
The purpose of the new bill is to totally integrate all review bodies within the structure of the Agency and thereby bring it into line with the leading QA agencies in Europe, and also to broaden the composition of the Board of Management, which currently consists mostly of university rectors and the chairpersons of university social councils, to include a student representation, leading members of the university scientific community and civil society.
Setting up of the AQU Student Commission12.05.2010
The AQU's Student Commission has now been set up, which, as an advisory body, will systematically monitor the university student body's viewpoint concerning review activities by the Agency.
