Given the strategic aspects of information quality and security in the continuous improvement of the activities being carried out by AQU Catalunya, the Board of Management has approved the new AQU Catalunya quality and security policy.

The Agency's commitments to quality comprise:

• The external review of AQU Catalunya in accordance with European quality standards and the Agency's alignment with the European Higher Education Area.
• The internal quality management system, which is based on ISO 9001, the internationally recognised standard for quality management.

The Agency's commitments to security comprise:

• Adoption of the necessary measures to ensure information security, with the objective of properly protecting the interests and rights of the users of the Agency's services.
• Compliance with the prevailing legislation in relation to personal data protection, intellectual and industrial property rights and any other legislation that is applicable to the Agency's activities.
• Establishing conditions of trust in the use of electronic media and the provision on a continuous basis of services through information systems that comply with legislation and current standards for security.

The Quality and Security Policy was formally approved by the Board of Management on 26 April 2011.
