The report of the panel of the ENQA coordinated review of AQU Catalunya, based on the European Standards and Guidelines, considered the Agency to be fully compliant in fourteen (14) and substantially compliant in two (2). This result puts the Catalan Agency as one of the two European agencies, along with the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), with a larger and better compliance with the ESG. This is an important fact, given that not all the agencies that are involved in an international review pass the process.

On the basis of this external report, the Board of ENQA agreed to reconfirm AQU's Full membership of ENQA for five years. This decision strengthens the leadership of the Catalan Agency in Europe, to the extent that the review process of AQU Catalunya will be used as an example of good practice in the next ENQA seminar to agencies that want to join the association.

It also reinforces the Catalan higher education system, as the evaluation of official university degrees (degrees, masters and doctoral programs) conducted by the Agency meet the ESG and therefore improves the position of the Catalan universities in the process of international recognition university degrees.
