The AQU Board of Management, in its last meeting held on 1 October, endorsed the new membership of the Research Assessment Commission (CAR) as proposed by the chair, Dr. Joan Rodés. The new members are as follows:

• Dr. Ana M. Sastre Requena, Professor of Chemical Engineering, UPC/Technical University of Catalonia
• Dr. Amadeu Creus Capdevila, Professor of Genetics, UAB/Autonomous University of Barcelona
• Dr. Miquel Durán Portas, Professor of Physical Chemistry, University of Girona
• Dr. Núria Bouza Vidal, Professor of International Private Law, Pompeu Fabra University
• Dr. Eduard Martí Sala, Professor of Evolutionary and Educational Psychology, UB/University of Barcelona
• Dr. Carles Sudrià Triay, Professor of Economic History, UB/University of Barcelona
• Dr. Montserrat Llagostera Casas, Professor of Microbiology, UAB/Autonomous University of Barcelona
• Dr. Sergio Castillón Miranda, Professor of Organic Chemistry, Rovira i Virgili University

Dr. Ramon Alcubilla González was appointed as chair of the special Engineering review panel, and Dr. Neus Agell Jané was appointed as chair of the special Life Sciences review panel (CAR).

The Board of Management also endorsed the membership of Dr. Antonio García de Herreros Madueño, Professor of Experimental Sciences at the Pompeu Fabra University, on the CLiC Commission (standing committee that deals with tenure-track and collaborating teaching staff), and who will also chair the special Life Sciences review panel (CLiC).

The Board of Management was also notified of a new member on the Quality Assurance Commission, Dr. Rosa M. Martí Laborda, Professor of Dermatology at the University of Lleida, who will also chair the special Health Sciences review panel.

The Board of Management also endorsed the modification of the Agency's Activities Plan for 2012.
