The Special Committee for the assessment of individual merits and activities (CEMAI/AQU Catalunya), in its meeting on 12 December 2012, endorsed the extension of current valid accreditation on the teaching assessment handbooks used in the public universities. Guidelines given in the handbooks are followed by the universities for the assessment of the merits of teachers in relation, amongst other things, to merit-based salary bonuses at Catalan universities.

The CEMAI also endorsed the procedure and certification for the assessment of individual merits in teaching and management of public service and contract teachers and research staff at public universities, creditable up until 31 December 2012, within the framework of merit-based salary bonuses. The closing date for universities to process teaching assessment reports on teachers and research staff with AQU Catalunya is 8 July 2013.
