AQU Catalunya sets the criteria and dates for the 2013 evaluation of research by tenured and contracted teaching and research staff at public universities

AQU Research Assessment Commission (CAR) has established the specific criteria for the assessment of research by teaching and research staff at public universities in Catalonia for the purposes of salary bonuses for merits in research. These criteria were announced in Resolution ECO/2902/2012 [ca], dated 21 December.

Merits in research are assessed according to six-year periods of research (each year of which is a calendar year, i.e. from 1 January to 31 December). Fractions of a year equal to or more than eight months are counted as a calendar year. Each six-year period of research does not necessarily need to be consecutive, except where just one six-year period of research is being assessed, in which case the six years must be consecutive.

The procedure and dates for applications to be submitted for the assessment of research by tenured and contracted teaching and research staff for periods ending at the latest on 31 December 2012 were announced in Resolution ECO/2903/2009 [ca], dated 21 December 2012. The dates set for submitting applications are as follows:

  • For non-civil servant acadèmic and research staff: from 9 to 31 January 2013, both included.
  • For civil servant staff: from 25 June to 19 July 2013, both included.
