AQU Catalunya completed the quality assurance and validation of programmes leading to higher awards in the Performing Arts and Plastic Arts (Music, Dance, Dramatic Arts, Restoration and Preservation of Cultural Heritage, Design and Visual Arts), which come under the responsibility of the Catalan Government's Ministry of Education.
Under the agreement signed between AQU Catalunya and the Ministry of Education concerning the validation, monitoring, modification and accreditation of higher studies and awards in the Performing Arts and Plastic Arts, the Agency makes use of the Framework for the validation, monitoring, modification and accreditation of recognised degree and awards in the quality assurance of such programmes.
At a ceremony held at the Ministry of Education on 3 July, AQU Catalunya officially handed over the final reports for the awards (títol superiors) for programmes that had applied for validation. These were:
During the ceremony, which was attended by the Assistant Director-General of the Catalan Office for Standards in Education (Inspecció d'Ensenyament), Margarida Muset; the Director-General for Initial Vocational Training and Special Needs Education, Melchor Arcarons; and the Director of AQU Catalunya, Josep Anton Ferré, a presentation was made of the process for monitoring these degrees, which is to be carried out jointly by the Agency, the Ministry and the Office for Standards in Education.
