The Government of Catalonia enacts the AQU Catalunya Bill27.08.2014
The Government of Catalonia's Executive Council (Govern), at its meeting held on 26 August 2014, approved the AQU Catalunya Bill (Projecte de llei de l'Agència per a la Qualitat del Sistema Universitari de Catalunya), which undergirds the Agency as a strategic instrument for the internationalisation of the university system in Catalonia by providing it with the legal and organisational tools to further consolidate its position as an agency of reference at European level.

All applications for the evaluation of the research work by public service teaching and research staff at public universities in Catalonia within the framework of salary increments for merits in research have now been processed by AQU Catalunya.
AQU's President participates in the ceremony to honour the students with the best grades in this year's university entrance examinations25.07.2014
On 22 July, the Government of Catalonia (Generalitat de Catalunya) honoured the 326 students who obtained a grade of "Excellence" in the university entrance examinations held in June. The number of award winners this year is the highest number ever. The average grade of these students in the general part of the entrance exams was 9 or above and, for the first time, one student obtained a grade 10.

The Minister for Economy and Knowledge, Andreu Mas-Colell,1 has appointed Lluís Torner Sabata as chairman of the AQU's Research Assessment Commission, to take over from Joan Rodés Teixidor, and Joan Nogué Font as chairman of AQU's CLiC Commission (that deals with tenure-track and collaborating teaching staff), to take over from Maria Lluïsa Hernanz Carbó.

The findings of the fifth survey of the labour market outcomes of graduates from Catalan universities have just been released and presented at an event held at the University of Barcelona by the President of the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency (AQU Catalunya), Jose Joan Moreso, together with the chairman of the University of Barcelona/UB's Board of Trustees, Salvador Alemany, and the Director of the Agency, Martí Casadesús. A total of 17,337 graduates of pre-Bologna degree cycles (llicenciatures, diplomatures, etc.), as well as 1,426 doctoral graduates, were interviewed in the survey.
