EDITORIAL

The new Strategic Plan 2015-2018

The Strategic Plan for AQU Catalunya to be unfolded in the period from 2015-2018 was endorsed by the AQU Board of Management on 15 December 2014.

This is not the Agency's first strategic plan. Approval for an Action Plan was given in 2001, which was a blueprint for a strategic plan, and the first Strategic Plan as such was endorsed in 2009 for the period covering 2009-2012. The Plan was fulfilled to a reasonable degree, despite the fact that it was the first time that the organisation had implemented a strategic plan, along with the budgetary constraints.

• Doctorate holders: doctoral studies and labour market outcomes
  The third AQU Catalunya survey and study on the labour market outcomes of holders of doctorate degrees from Catalan universities was completed in 2014. Surveys and studies on graduate destinations coordinated by AQU Catalunya are a consequence of the interest of the social councils of the universities in Catalonia in obtaining data and benchmarks on the quality of the labour market outcomes of graduates.

• The AQU Catalunya Strategic Plan 2015-2018
  Consistent with the need for a new Strategic Plan, in 2014 AQU Catalunya began the work of defining a new plan on the basis of the assessment of the previous Plan's performance, the internal SWOT analysis, and internal work sessions and briefings to define the new objectives for each of the Agency's main strategic areas.

  On the 22 and 29 November 2014, thirty students from the public universities in Catalonia (UB, UAB, URV, UPC, UdL, UdG and UPF) plus two private universities (UOC and UIC), took part at the University of Barcelona (UB) in the Quality assurance training course for university students organised by CEUCAT (the Council for student representation covering all of the Catalan universities), the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency (AQU Catalunya) and the University of Barcelona (UB).
