A discussion on the draft legislation in the Catalan Parliament dealing with AQU Catalunya was held in a regular session of the Education and Universities Commission on 26 January.

Those taking part in the discussion were Josep Joan Moreso and Martí Casadesús, respectively the president and director of AQU Catalunya, and Josep Anton Ferré, rector of the URV and director of the Agency from 2009 to 2013. Representatives from the following bodies also took part: the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), union representatives from Comisiones Obreras (Spanish Workers' Commissions, CCOO) and the Unión General de Trabajadores (UGT, General Union of Workers) to the General Conference of the Inter-university Council of Catalonia; the ex-president of the Catalan Universities' Student Council; the president of the Catalan Association of Public Universities; and Josep M. Garrell, rector of the Ramon Llull University.
