The inaugural meeting of the AQU Catalunya Appeals Committee was held on 2 December 2015. Pursuant to Act 15/2015, 21 July 2015, concerning the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency (AQU Catalunya), the Appeals Committee is responsible for ruling on appeals filed in relation to decisions by review, certification and accreditation bodies.
Inaugural meeting of the Governing Board of AQU Catalunya01.12.2015
On Monday, 30 November, the inaugural meeting was convened of AQU Catalunya's Governing Board, the body that oversees the Agency's activities, pursuant to Act 15/2015, 21 July. At the meeting, the Board's rules of internal procedure were endorsed, one new aspect of which is publication of the minutes of the meetings. The meeting also saw endorsement of the criteria for members sitting on the Standing Committee; the Agency's proposed statutes, which will be sent to the Catalan government's Executive Council for endorsement; and the setting up of the AQU Catalunya Appeals Committee.

AQU Catalunya, on behalf of ENQA, participated in a new meeting of the ASEAN QA project. The project is having a big impact in the region, and a first extension of the initial project, aimed at providing training for university authorities in quality management according to international standards and settings, is now coming to an end.

The Conference of Directors of Schools of Doctoral Studies (CDED) is a non-profit association consisting of the directors of schools of doctoral studies and/or institutional representatives of doctoral studies in Spanish universities. Its objectives include academic and organisational exchange, cooperation between schools of doctoral studies, and the setting up of links with similar international associations.

Summary of the accreditation of Bachelor and Master's degree programmes20.10.2015
From the time when the accreditation of recognised degree programmes began up until October 2015, AQU Catalunya received a total number of 184 applications (18% of all degrees introduced in Catalonia), 86 for Bachelor-level degrees and 98 for university Master’s programmes. The Agency has already processed and processed 61% (113) of these applications.

AQU Catalunya has signed specific collaboration agreements with the Consell de Col·legis d'Aparelladors, Arquitectes Tècnics i Enginyers d'Edificació de Catalunya (the Board of the Associations of Quantity Surveyors, Architects and Building Engineers of Catalonia) and the Col·legi d'Enginyers Graduats i Enginyers Tècnics Industrials de Barcelona (Association of Technical Industrial Engineers of Barcelona) regarding quality assurance activities in the university system in Catalonia.
