AQU publishes the new version of the accreditation guide

A new version of the Guide to the Accreditation of Recognised Bachelor and Master's Degree Programmes [ca] was endorsed by AQU's Institutional and Programme Review Commission (CAIP) on 18 March. The new version is the result of discussion and analysis by the Agency and its decision-making bodies, together with input from the universities, following two years of the running of the accreditation programme. The main changes are as follows:

  • Adaptation to the new Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG) adopted by the Ministers responsible for higher education in the European Higher Education Area at Yerevan in May 2015
  • Explanation of the accreditation criteria
  • Description of the new accreditation procedure introduced in the second half of 2015.
  • Specification of the minimum required evidence and indicators to be submitted by institutions for the assessment of each standard.
  • Revision of Standard 3, Efficacy of the programme's internal quality assurance system (IQAS).
  • Simplification of the rubric chart.
  • Elimination of the additional dimensions as these are being made into a specific guide.

Several of the aspects in the new version have been operational since the end of 2015. All of the others will be implemented as of reviews carried out beginning in the second half of 2016.
