The educational association Itscool, which promotes Information and Communications Technologies as a vocation in primary and secondary education, is organising a workshop "Forward-looking generations for ICT" to be held on 28 June at the Palau Macaya, to discuss the promising benefits of courses in Information Technologies and favourable professional prospects in this field in the future.
The IMPALA International Conference held in Barcelona22.06.2016
The latest international conference of the IMPALA project, which was organised by AQU Catalunya, was held at the Palau Robert in Barcelona on 16 and 17 June. The conference is an activity included in the project, which forms part of the Lifelong Learning programme funded by the European Union titled "Impact Analysis of External Quality Assurance Processes in Higher Education Institutions: Pluralistic Methodology and Application of a Formative Transdisciplinary Impact Evaluation (IMPALA)", the main objective of which is to improve the knowledge and know-how of all stakeholders about the outputs, outcomes, effects, and (mid- and long-term) impacts of EQA procedures.
AQU Catalunya participates in the first face-to-face meeting of TeSLA project20.06.2016
From June 15th to 16th the University of Jyväskylä (Finland) held the first face-to-face meeting of the consortium members that make up the PMB (Project Management Board) of the TeSLA project. AQU Catalunya is one member of this consortium and leads the WP4 (Work Package 4). The main aim of this work package is to cover the quality assessment issues throughout the whole development process and to establish the key elements in virtual learning from a quality assurance point of view in the assessment methods.
AQU Catalunya publishes the Degree Courses at Universities in Catalonia (EUC) web portal01.06.2016
The Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency has created the new Degree Courses at Universities in Catalonia (EUC) web portal, a search engine that provides information on the quality of recognised Bachelor and Master's degree courses at universities in Catalonia. Developed in conjunction with the Government of Catalonia's Secretariat for Universities and Research and all the universities in Catalonia, the aim of the new EUC portal is to present the quality of degree programmes in a way that is easy to understand for all stakeholders, including school counsellors in secondary education, prospective university students and their families.
AQU publishes the new version of the accreditation guide31.05.2016
A new version of the Guide to the Accreditation of Recognised Bachelor and Master's Degree Programmes [ca] was endorsed by AQU's Institutional and Programme Review Commission (CAIP) on 18 March. The new version is the result of discussion and analysis by the Agency and its decision-making bodies, together with input from the universities, following two years of the running of the accreditation programme.

Within the framework of the TEMPUS project – EQTeL: Enhancing Quality of Technology-Enhanced Learning at Jordanian Universities, AQU Catalunya participated in the "International Training for HEAC". The Higher Education Accreditation Commission/HEAC is the official body that acts as a QA agency in Jordan.

Joaquim Prats Cuevas, PhD in Modern History and professor of Didactic Methods in the Social Sciences at the University of Barcelona, is to be awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Murcia on 29 April, following the university Senate’s decision on 15 June 2015 at the proposal of the department of Didactic Methods in mathematics and the Social Sciences and Mathematics and the department of Modern and Contemporary History and the History of America.

AQU Catalunya's Research Assessment Commission and its various subject-specific committees have agreed to improve the public review criteria to underpin the importance of the quality of journals and publications submitted by applicants for the accreditation of research and advanced research.
