AQU Catalunya is organising a round table-workshop titled Challenges in university education in the field of Humanities to be held at the University of Barcelona's Faculty of Geography and History (Aula Magna) on 19 June.

The purpose of the round table-workshop is to provide universities and other HEIs with information on the way in which the labour market perceives the higher education of graduates in the fields of Humanities and thereby enhance the synergies between these two worlds and lead to improvements in programmes of study.

In order to encourage discussion and analysis among those attending, Wim Blockmans, Professor Emeritus in Medieval History at the University of Leiden, will give a keynote presentation titled 'Not for profit'? Reflections on the Humanities' 'societal impact'; Anna Prades, coordinator of AQU Catalunya's employers survey, will give a presentation on the opinions of enterprises in the field of Humanities based on the findings of the Employers survey.

This will be followed by a round table made up of experts with different profiles: Marina Garcés, professor at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya and Philosopher; Ferran Barenblit, Director of the Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA) and Maria Díaz, Hispanic Philology graduate and head of Consulting at Inbenta.
