Anna Prades, head of the Internationalisation and Knowledge Generation department at AQU Catalunya, gave a presentation on the EUC/Higher Education Courses in Cataloniaweb portal at the Tenth General Assembly of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), held on 17 and 18 October in Yerevan (Armenia).

Three main ideas were put forward in the presentation poster of the EUC:

• Should QA agencies serve as repositories of key data for their higher education system?
• Should prospective university students be able to choose their degree programme on the basis of the outcomes of QA agency quality assurance and assessment procedures?
• Should QA agencies provide benchmarks for use in QA and assessment procedures?

Prades considers that “the compilation of statistical information, which is something that few European QA agencies do, is tactical in that it adds the inherent values of benchmarking to the higher education system for use in review and assessment procedures”.

At this year's meeting, the Assembly focused on the future of quality assurance in higher education and ENQA's role in meeting the emerging challenges.
