Amendment of the criteria for teaching staff assessment in the Experimental Sciences and Life Sciences

At its recent meeting, AQU's Research Assessment Committee (CAR) approved two amendments to the assessment criteria in the Experimental Sciences and Life Sciences. The changes affect the section on “Research publications and the transfer of research findings”.

In Experimental Sciences, the criteria for the assessment and accreditation (through a favourable report) of advanced research now specify that a score equal to or higher than five is necessary for “Research publications and the transfer of research findings”, as well as in one of the other two main sections (“Projects” or “Teaching activity”).

With regard to Life Sciences, following on from the new wording of the criteria for the accreditation (through a favourable report) of tenure-eligible lecturers, research and advanced research, certain publications dealing with thematic reviews, works that are purely descriptive or reiterations of previous work will not be accepted for assessment purposes, except in cases where a significant contribution is made to the consolidation and advancement of knowledge in the corresponding field of knowledge”.

The Research Assessment Committee also made use of its review of the criteria to introduce the gender perspective into the language of the document.
