The profile of tenure-eligible lecturers

Based on an analysis of the curriculums of individuals who obtained a favourable report in the procedure of assessment and accreditation for tenure-eligible lecturers in the period 2013-2017, AQU Catalunya has produced a report titled Profiles of tenure-track lecturers 2013-2017.

Out of a total number of 2,438 dossiers from the period between 2013-2017, 1,675 favourable curriculums were analysed from the six different fields of knowledge (Humanities, Social Sciences, Experimental Sciences, Life Sciences, Medical and Health Sciences, and Engineering and Architecture), the aim being to provide an overview of the necessary requirements to successfully undergo assessment.

The report give details for each field of knowledge on the quantitative profile of the requirements (merits), mainly in publications (indexed articles, book chapters, written and oral presentations at symposia and congresses, and publications according to quartile), research projects (competitive projects in which the candidate has either been the principal researcher or participated in) and accredited periods of research/research stays (the number and duration of stays at both pre- and post-doctoral level) that people who obtained a favourable report in the procedure of accreditation for tenure-eligible lecturers have on average.

The report also details the changing trend in the number of assessments of tenure-eligible lecturers undertaken, as well as the trend in the proportion of favourable assessments to the curriculums analysed.
