Being a reviewer calls for the acquisition of knowledge, skills and abilities. A standard of good practice of an external review agency is the training and preparation of experts who take part in QA processes.
The review and evaluation of recognized degree programmes since 2014 has been coordinated through the new Avalua extranet, an ad hoc instrument that facilitates and greatly improves the procedures of programme validation (ex ante accreditation), monitoring, modification and accreditation.
In accordance with standard guidelines, AQU Catalunya includes external experts in its review processes. These experts are individuals of renowned standing in academic and/or professional circles, and students, and are selected on the basis of independence, objectivity and the absence of any conflict of interests.
