AQU Catalunya takes part in University of Aveiro Quality Researchers meeting
On 17 September, AQU Catalunya director Martí Casadesús took part in the "XI Encontro de Investigadores da Qualidade" conference at the University of Aveiro, with a presentation entitled "Trends in quality management research: A personal view".
The director's presentation was divided into two distinct parts. The first focused on "Industry today", where he explained the differences between the so-called "Industry 4.0" paradigm and the current "Industry 5.0", the latter being much more focused on human needs and interests, on respecting sustainability and on achieving a resilient European industry, capable of showing strength in times of crisis. According to the director, these three elements could be achieved by focusing on research and innovation as drivers of the transition from Industry 4.0 to the new Industry 5.0. The skills that are likely to be most in demand in the industry of the future were also explained.
In the second part, he gave an overview of the publications required in the different categories of professorships (tenure-track, associate and full). Finally, he explained the content of two of the latest reflections and documents on the assessment of teaching staff research, already present in AQU Catalunya's assessments: the Leiden Manifesto for research metrics and the recommendations of the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA Declaration).
