Process to select AQU Catalunya's director, 2021
Given that the current director of AQU Catalunya's second term of office is coming to an end, AQU Catalunya is obliged to initiate a process to select and appoint the person who will serve as director of AQU Catalunya for the next four years.
In accordance with article 9 of Law 15/2015, of 21 July, on the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency, AQU Catalunya's director is appointed by means of an open process of free competition, following the criteria agreed by the Governing Council, for a period of four years, which may be renewed once, in accordance with the principles of merit and capacity and the criterion of suitability.

Those determined in Law 13/2005, of 27 December, on the system of incompatibilities of senior officials in the service of the Government of Catalonia.
Four years, renewable once
The director is responsible for the technical and administrative management of AQU Catalunya, and carries out the decisions of the Governing Council and the Standing Committee. He or she must also carry out the functions of president of AQU Catalunya's Institutional and Programme Assessment Committee.
In order to take part in this process, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Be an active university professor or hold an equivalent position (e.g., tenured full professor, full professor in other university systems, ICREA research faculty or director of a benchmark research centre).
- Have proven experience in research, teaching, university management and project management.
- Be familiar with the Catalan university system.
- Have an excellent command of written and spoken Catalan, Spanish and English.
The participation requirements must be met by the closing date for the submission of applications.
Candidates must not be disqualified from public service by a final judgement or have been dismissed from public service by a final disciplinary decision.
The selection process consists of the following phases and deadlines:

The Selection Committee is made up of:
- Josep Joan Moreso Mateos, president of AQU Catalunya and the Selection Committee.
- Joan Guàrdia Olmos, rector of the University of Barcelona and representative of the AQU Catalunya Governing Board.
- Hélène Lamicq, professor of Urban Geography and former rector of the Université Paris-Est Créteil, as a professor of international renown
- Maria Giné Soca, secretary of AQU Catalunya and of the Governing Council, with voice but no vote, acting as Committee secretary.

Applications that are not submitted using the standard AQU Catalunya models will not be considered.
The application form and curriculum vitae must be submitted as PDF files and both documents must be signed by the candidate with a valid electronic signature.
The management project must be written in Catalan and must be submitted in two formats: Word and PDF. The PDF file must be signed by the candidate with a valid electronic signature.
Once the applications have been received, AQU Catalunya will acknowledge receipt of the documents and provide a unique identifier code for each person that will be used to publish the final results.
At the end of the selection process, only the person who has been proposed to take up the post shall be required to provide, within 10 working days of being requested to do so, the original or certified documentation accrediting the merits that appear on the CV, provided that AQU Catalunya does not already have the documentation on file.
