Monday 21 November saw the establishment of the Standing Committee of AQU Catalunya's Governing Board, pursuant to article 8 of Law 15/2015, 21 July, on the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency/AQU Catalunya and the criteria governing the nomination of the members of the Standing Committee, endorsed by the Governing Board on 30 November 2015.

In its first meeting since Law 15/2015 was passed, the Standing Committee endorsed the Agency's self-assessment report for the external review of compliance with the ESG (2015) and also created two new quality labels, one for the ex-ante accreditation (validation) of programmes that are favourably assessed (and receive a favourable report) and another for university departments that successfully undergo the review and assessment of research.

The Standing Committee also endorsed the final budget for 2016 and ratified agreements AQU Catalunya entered into and signed between July and August 2016.
