AQU Catalunya has published the Guide to the accreditation of arts higher education programmes (bachelors and master's degrees in the Performing Arts and Plastic Arts).

The methodology, which is based on the Guide to the accreditation of recognised bachelor's and master's degree programmes, is based on the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG) and the regulations governing programmes of study. The guide sets out the following six standards, together with the accreditation procedure:

• Programme quality
• Relevance of the public information
• Efficacy of the programme's internal quality assurance system
• The suitability to teach of staff on the programme
• Efficacy of learning support systems
• Quality of programme (learning) outcomes

It is anticipated that the first accreditation to take place will be that of the higher programme of study in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage at the Escola Superior de Conservació i Restauració de Béns Culturals de Catalunya in October.
