In order to draw up a sectoral framework for skills and learning outcomes for the subject area of Economics, a meeting was held at AQU Catalunya on 2 November to deal with the development and publication of a new subject benchmark statement for Economics. As a form of introduction to the meeting, the Agency's director presented the subject benchmark statements for tourism i informatics, which have already been published by AQU Catalunya.

The first meeting of the working group included the participation of the following experts (all of whom are professors) from different disciplines in the field of Economics: Jordi Suriñach (University of Barcelona/UB), chairman; José María Mella, (Autonomous University of Madrid/UAM); Juan Tugores (University of Barcelona/UB); Guillem Lopez Casasnovas (Pompeu Fabra University); Oriol Amat (Pompeu Fabra University); Ferran Sancho (Autonomous University of Barcelona/UAB); Antonio Cabrales (University College London); and María-José Gutiérrez (University of the Basque Country). Carme Edo (AQU Catalunya) acted as secretary.
