Esther Huertas presented the article titled Quality assurance of MOOCs and online programmes: special focus on e-assessment in the session on Innovative Learning Design Models, within the context of the MOOC-Maker Global Symposium, held in Lisbon on Tuesday, 17 April.

The article by Esther Huertas and Roger Roca, who are both QA specialists at AQU Catalunya, sets out the range of existing QA standards for online assessment for use by online education providers to ensure the development of a culture of quality and trust in educational programmes.

The article places particular emphasis on the standards that are more difficult to assess, such as student support, and it builds on the preliminary findings of the TeSLA Project, the aim of which is the development of an e-assessment system that ensures reliable authentication and authorship in online and blended learning environments.
