Ricardo Mairal Usón, Professor of Philology and member of AQU Catalunya's Doctoral Programmes Review Committee has been appointed rector of the Spanish University for e-Education(UNED) in the second round of voting, with 57.57% of the votes in the elections held on 4 December 2018.

Ricardo Mairal has participated as an expert in AQU Catalunya's QA procedures involving the review and evaluation of both teaching staff and programmes since 2004.
