On 10 May, Esteve Arboix, head of Teaching Staff and Research at AQU Catalunya, gave a talk on University teaching staff accreditation and promotion University teaching staff accreditation and promotion.

The talk was aimed at both the university's teaching staff and people considering an academic career, and served to make known the functions of AQU Catalunya. In particular, an in-depth explanation was given of teaching staff assessment. Arboix outlined the typical professional career of university teaching staff and explained the various different contractual positions that undergo assessment by the Agency.

The head of Teaching Staff and Research then went on to explain the composition and membership of the Agency's review panels, the assessment criteria and the quality indicators used, the most important of the latter being publications and journals.

Arboix also presented the profile of candidates applying for accreditation for posts as tenure-elegible lecturer and associate professor who successfully undergo assessment by the Agency and spoke about the challenges for the future in teaching assessment.
