The latest figures on the satisfaction of graduates from universities in Catalonia, including graduate cohorts from 2016, 2017 and 2018, have just been released.

For the first time, all twelve universities in the higher education system in Catalonia participated in the fieldwork that was carried out during the winter (2018/19). Another new development in this edition of the survey is that 34 affiliated and partner schools and institutes (out of the 50 existing ones) also took part in the satisfaction survey study, which has become increasingly consolidated as a comparable and useful tool that is common to the university system as a whole. As of this edition, 88% of the graduate population is now covered by the survey study.

The analysis of recent graduate satisfaction is a system requirement, both for higher education institutions and government authorities, in terms of the quality assurance of higher education and the continuous empirical evidence-based enhancement of programmes, students and their educational guidance.

The overall outcomes are very similar to those of the 2017 survey and can be accessed by clicking on this link. Of particular note is that:

• Overall recent graduate satisfaction with degree courses at Catalan universities was rated at between 7 and 8 (7.1) out of 10.
• According to field of knowledge, those with the highest level of satisfaction were graduates in Experimental Sciences and Health Sciences, whereas those with the lowest level of satisfaction were graduates in Engineering and Humanities, although the reasons for this lower level of satisfaction were different.

A second survey study of master's graduate satisfaction was carried out in parallel with the fieldwork for the survey of first degrees (bachelors).

The response rate for the two surveys was as follows:
