AQU Catalunya hosts the Sixth ENQA General Assembly (European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education), being held at the Technical University of Catalonia (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya) in Barcelona on 28 and 29 September. The meeting will bring together more than a hundred directors and heads of European university quality assurance agencies.

The assembly will deal with methods for the quality assurance of university degree programmes to be introduced over the next ten years. Specific reference will be made to the evaluation of learning outcomes and the acquisition of academic, professional and personal competences by graduates in the future. The conclusions that are drawn from the discussions will contribute to the building of the European Higher Education Area.

The opening ceremony will be presided over by the Minister for Innovation, Universities and enterprise, Josep Huguet, the ENQA President, Bruno Curvale, and the acting Rector of the Technical University of Catalonia, Josep Casanovas. ENQA will also elect a new president and vice-presidents at the meeting, approve the organisation’s annual plan and ratify the admission of new members.
