AQU Catalunya has been working in recent months on setting up a specialised electronic document repository dealing with university quality assurance. Forming part of the Agency's website, the aim is for the Digital library to serve as a useful instrument in the design of new activities, as well as for training purposes and for new knowledge to be created in this sphere.

The library currently consists of 593 documents in different languages (fundamentally, Catalan, Spanish and English). Users of the Digital Library can access all of the on-line electronic documents produced by AQU, as well as documents from other agencies, mostly in the EU. There is also material from government authorities and other bodies (both national and international), as well as universities.

Documents can be accessed either by a simple search, using keywords; an advanced search, according to title, author or language; or a search according to subject or classification, which allows for access according to categories and subject.

The project of setting up this instrument is an ongoing one and will call for continuous maintenance and updating. As such, the Digital library will be a considerable challenge, given the amount of new content being produced in the field of quality assurance.
