The Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency has obtained the renewal of certification for its internal quality assurance system for university quality assurance according to ISO 9001:2008, which includes the processes of institutional review and academic staff assessment.

The report from the external audit, carried out by Applus, contained no non-conformities, and a positive assessment was made of work carried out over the last year. The strong points detected in the audit were as follows:

• The organization of work systems.
• The traceability of activities.
• The computerization of the review and assessment processes.
• The development of NEXUS, a computing platform for managing the activities of the Agency.

ISO 9001:2008, which is internationally recognised, contains guidelines that enable users to design and implement a made-to-measure quality management system for the quality assurance of a product or service, and to increase user or client satisfaction.
