The AQU Catalunya's CEMAI Committee, which deals with the assessment of individual merits and activities, has certified the teaching assessment handbook submitted by the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. The new handbook replaces the previous one certified in 2003 and will be used in the evaluation of teaching merits valid up until 31 December 2007.

Accreditation of the Catalan universities' teaching assessment models will begin to take place from July 2008 onwards. This will involve a self-evaluation process and the visit of an external review panel. Once accredited, the handbooks will have a validity of five years.
