AQU Catalunya participates in the IMPALA project

The overall purpose of the IMPALA project is to resolve the problem of our rudimentary knowledge about the outcomes, effects, and (mid- and long-term) impacts of EQA procedures of HEIs and their influence on organisational change. This will serve the main objective to improve the QA agencies' and the HEIs' knowledge and know-how about QA procedures in HEIs and their applicability and usefulness.

Therefore, the project sets out three basic aims: (1) Development and publication of a (comprehensive) methodology of impact analysis of EQA procedures in HEIs; (2) application of the developed methodology under different boundary conditions (e.g., different types of EQA procedures; different contexts in four European countries); and (3) analysis of the collected impact data and dissemination and exploitation of the results, including a proof of applicability.

IMPALA is part of the Life Long Learning Programme Action: Erasmus Multilateral Projects of the European Commission, and is funded by the EACEA (The Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency), responsible for the management of certain parts of the EU's programmes in the fields of education, culture and audiovisual.

The project is coordinated by EVALAG (Evaluationsagentur Baden-Württemberg), has a planned duration of three years (2013-2016) and a total funding of 532,552 euros. AQU Catalunya is a partner of the consortium, with a funding of 76,999 euros.
