A symposium on "Programme accreditation as a tool for internationalisation", organised by the Menéndez Pelayo International University (UIMP) with the cooperation of ANECA and AQU Catalunya, is to be held in Santander (Spain) on 9-10 September.

The aim of the meeting is to focus on the opportunities and implications of the accreditation of university study programmes from the point of view of internationalisation. It will begin with the position of international experts regarding the relevance and importance of accreditation at international level, and this will be followed by a debate among European experts of trends in the internationalisation of accreditation in the European Higher Education Area. Within this context, the discussions will focus on the opportunities and implications in Spain according to the opinion of different representatives from ANECA and AQU Catalunya, together with university policy makers. ?

The symposium, which is to be held in the Menéndez Pelayo International University's Palacio de la Magdalena, is aimed at vice-rectors for quality and internationalisation, programme coordinators, heads of university QA units, and those involved in and concerned with the quality enhancement and internationalisation of university degrees.
