Inaugural meeting of the AQU Catalunya Appeals Committee

The inaugural meeting of the AQU Catalunya Appeals Committee was held on 2 December 2015. Pursuant to Act 15/2015, 21 July 2015, concerning the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency (AQU Catalunya), the Appeals Committee is responsible for ruling on appeals filed in relation to decisions by review, certification and accreditation bodies.

The Appeals Committee consists of:

  1. One member of the Governing Board, chosen from the three academics of international standing elected by the Inter-University Council of Catalonia, who chairs the Appeals Committee.
  2. Two or more people, at the discretion of the Governing Board, of academic, scientific and/or professional standing and with technical expertise, who do not belong to any of the Agency's other bodies.

In its meeting on 30 November, the Governing Board appointed the following members of the Appeals Committee:

  • Dr. Maria Pau Ginebra Molins, professor of the UPC's Department of Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering (chair)
  • Dr. Tomàs Font i Llovet, professor of Administrative Law at the University of Barcelona (board member)
  • Dr. Joan Gómez Pallarès, professor of Latin at the UAB's Department of Sciences of Antiquity and the Middle Ages and director of the Catalan Institute of Classical Archaeology (board member)
