July 2016
AQU Catalunya's Research Assessment Commission and its various subject-specific committees have agreed to improve the public review criteria to underpin the importance of the quality of journals and publications submitted by applicants for the accreditation of research and advanced research.
As a general principle, it is now stipulated that quality, as demonstrated by way of objective and internationally accepted parameters, shall take precedence over the quantity of contributions. High quality and exceptional journals and publications may therefore compensate for shortcomings in the quantity of contributions given in the criteria.
These criteria will be applicable to calls for applications for the accreditation of research and advanced research made in 2016.
