AQU Catalunya is organising a workshop on "Improving the training of nurses" to be held in the Hall of the Rectors Building at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) on 15 February, starting at 9.15 a.m.

The aim of the workshop is to facilitate refection and dialogue between the different providers and agencies responsible for the training of nurses, and it is intended to serve as a starting point for proposals for improving and enhancing nursing training.
The following topics will be presented and discussed:

• The current situation of qualified nursing as regards qualifications according to data obtained during accreditation by AQU Catalunya and the findings of the employers survey.
• The new assessment criteria for nurse educators, endorsed by AQU Catalunya.
• Advocating the need to implement a skills assessment test on completion of the undergraduate programme in Nursing: landmark experiences and prospects for the future.
• A round table that takes in different perspectives to consider and put forward improvements to be introduced in the training of prospective nurses in the future.
