The president of the Chilean National Accreditation Commission (CNA-Chile), Alfonso Muga, iAlfonso Muga, and the president of AQU Catalunya, Josep Joan Moreso, have signed a Memorandum of understanding between the institutions that they represent, with the commitment to exchange information and experience in the field of higher education, especially with regard to institutional and programme accreditation. It also includes the possibility of a second stage of cooperation and collaboration in quality assurance projects, joint research that is of mutual benefit and other mutually agreed activities, as well as the facilitation of opportunities for the development and advancement of staff at both institutions.

To facilitate accomplishment of the aims of the memorandum of understanding, a working group is to be set up headed by the presidents of the two agencies, together with collaboration from a QA specialist/adviser from each institution.
