The eighth ENQA General Assembly was held at the Centre International d’Études Pédagogiques (CIEP) in Sèvres, France, on 26 and 27 October and was hosted by the French QA agency, HCERES. The majority of the member agencies of ENQA, attended, including a representation from AQU Catalunya.

The keynote presentation was followed by a poster session. Esther Huertas, project manager from AQU Catalunya and chair of the ENQA workgroup on quality assurance and e-learning, which the Agency forms part of, presented Considerations for quality assurance of e-learning provision. The poster served as support for a presentation of the recommendations regarding quality assurance in higher education, in particular e-learning, pursuant to the Standards and Guidelines for quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG), which are applicable across all areas of higher education, including e-learning.

This was followed by a discussion of the recommendations to be proposed by ENQA at the next Bologna Process Ministerial Conference of that will take place in Paris in May 2018. The discussion focused in particular on the lessons learned from agency reviews based on the ESG 2015, the changing role and profile of external QA agencies, and the implementation of key considerations for cross border quality assurance.
