The committees which come under AQU Catalunya's Research Assessment Committee and that deal with the different field of knowledge have completed the processing of applications for the issuance of reports on tenure-eligible teaching staff (lecturer category), on the accreditation of research, and on the accreditation of advanced research received in the second call for applications made in 2018.

In this second call for applications for the assessment of tenure-eligible teaching staff (lecturer category) there was a noteworthy increase in the number of applications (838) compared to the first call for applications made last year (585). The increase was due to the “pull effect” resulting from the announcement of places under the Jaume Serra Húnter Programme.

These figures stand in contrast to the number of applications for the assessment of research and advanced research, which dropped in this second call for applications made in 2018. 301 applications for research and 115 applications for advanced research were made in April 2018, compared to 203 and 61 respectively in October and November 2018.

In terms of the number of successful applications, there was an increase in the calls for lecturer and senior lecturer/associate professor, with 64.8% and 62.8% of the reports being favourable in this second call for applications.
