For the first time AQU Catalunya has carried out the teaching staff assessment procedure as a fully online procedure, from the application stage through to decision-making and resolution.

670 applicants received notification by e.mail of the outcome of their application for an assessment report for accreditation as a tenure-eligible lecturer from the second call for applications made in 2019.

The project to make all teaching staff assessment a fully comprehensive online procedure began in 2018 in order to modernise and simplify the notification of outcomes procedure. In order for this to happen, all stages in the review and assessment process, from the very beginning through to the appeals stages, had to be digitised.

This entire process involved the modification of all registration and application forms on the Government of Catalonia's e.government platforms, the development of software applications for digital process management and massive signature, the registration of large numbers of personal ID cards and the training of staff to run these platforms.

As a result, the handling and management of all teaching staff assessment dossiers by AQU Catalunya is now totally digitised. This means that the process is much more efficient in terms of time and cost, both for the Administration and applicants, who now have 24/7 access to the service and a procedure that is much faster and easier and can be completed online.
